What is the AVL ?

AVL (Automatic Vehicle Location). It is a system that it is used to establish a vehicle position with Latitude and Longitude coordinates. For this it uses the GPS technology (Global Positioning System); generally this coordinates are transmitted to base in real time or in post process, a calculation equipment with a communication interface and a software, allows to draw over a digital map the vehicle position.

The software can give reports in regards the vehicle position and speed in a time range.

When the real time vehicle position is needed to know, it is needed a transmission medium, which it can be a radio, cellphone or another wireless transmission medium.
